Collaboration
Norwich has had several successes due to the Children First Initiative:
- Norwich worked with Groton’s School Readiness Council on a joint school readiness application.
- Collaborated with New London Children First Initiative on resources and lessons learned.
- The Norwich Children First Initiative worked with the Public School system and the University of Connecticut to establish a childcare program located at one of the City’s elementary schools.
- Norwich also worked with Child & Family Agency and a parent group to establish a Parent Leadership Training Institute.
- Collaborated on school readiness legislation, an Even Start grant, and the Municipal Childcare Center building project.
